Replacing your shabby home office setup with intelligently designed furniture

I remember many years ago while in college we would actually take concrete building blocks, create two stacks of them and place a door on the top so as to make a desk. Later I improved this situation slightly by using a couple of two drawer filing cabinets in place of the concrete blocks. I suppose I could no longer get away with using such a device as home office furniture. That’s okay, because there are plenty of fine beautiful desks and chairs readily available that were designed specifically to be used in the smaller spaces available in one’s home.
